Cupping is a type of Chinese massage, consisting of placing several glass "cups" (open spheres) on the body. Practitioners may use cupping to mobilize blood flow in order to promote healing. Suction can be created using heat (fire) or mechanical devices (hand or electrical pumps) When combined with massage oil, the cups can be slid around the back, offering "reverse-pressure massage".
